Ohio Small Business Development Centers (SBDC)
We coordinated with five different Ohio SBDC offices to produce 20 client spotlights showcasing the variety of programs the SBDC offers small business owners in Ohio. Each narrative worked to how programs designed by the SBDC helped them build their businesses in a myriad of ways.
About the client:

Each center is staffed with highly-trained, Certified BusinessAdvisors to help small businesses and entrepreneurs with development and growth to increase sales and create jobs in their local communities.
Challenges:
We coordinated with five different Ohio SBDC offices to produce 20 client spotlights showcasing the variety of programs the SBDC offers small business owners in Ohio. Each narrative worked to how programs designed by the SBDC helped them build their businesses in a myriad of ways. Through the narratives, we were able to show future clients of the SBDC the value and impact of their programs.
Scheduling with business owners and stakeholders associated with the SBDC required coordination and attention to detail on behalf of our team as well as follow up and follow through. Similarly, we made sure to adequately attend to both the stories and journey of each individual business while at the same time communicating specifically how they were impacted by work with the SBDC. Each short video portrait met the goal of communicating community impact and program benefits. Half hour(virtual) pre-interviews were conducted with each of the clients that prepped them for interview questions and gave our team at Homeplace Creative an opportunity to brainstorm b-roll opportunities prior to arrival for filming.
In addition to producing video stories, we also created photographs and graphics for the marketing campaign. We composed content calendars so that each SBDC office could easily pull text, digital assets, and hashtags to promote the offices as a region and the SBDC mission. This coordinated effort resulted in more public impact.
Result:
A successful marketing campaign that involved five SBDC offices and showcased success stories from small businesses across the state of Ohio to educate and inform future business owners about services available and increase community support of the SBDC’s efforts.
